Think back to the time you were child’s age. Did you hate the dark? Were you ever afraid of monsters, bogeymen, or bears under your bed? Did the noise of the furnace heating up sound like someone creeping down the hall? Admit to your children that you had such fears when you were young. It helps kids to know that their fears are not abnormal and that they can talk about them with parents. This dialogue opens the door to exploring ways children can cope with fears.

How to Reduce the Chance Your Child Will Be Sexually Abused
Parents can lessen the chance for sexual abuse to occur by setting limits for their children. You can also lessen your children’s chances of being sexually abused by someone you know by monitoring the adults who come into contact with your youngsters. Be wary of any adult who wants to spend time alone with a child for no appear ant reason or shows an unusual interest in one child above the other youngsters. When your child complains about an adult, listen carefully to the complaint.

I've found that the older and younger generations here don't differ very much from those back home. They have the same pressure, the same concerns and the same desires for their children.
